Rectangular multi-ply expansion joint
Using a worldwide unique production method, kompaflex produces rectangular multi-ply expansion joints, that allow great movement on a very short structural length. These rectangular expansion joints with no welding seams in the corner areas show a superior lifespan (cycles) and low spring rates.
For all common production methods of rectangular single-ply expansion joints welding seams in the corner areas are unavoidable. The highest mechanical stresses are concentrated in these areas and therefore welding seams become the weakest links of the whole structure. Furthermore, the welding seams´ leakage and quality can barely be inspected.
Kompaflex multi-ply rectangular expansion joints are the only exception on the market. Due to our unique manufacturing process, there appears only one welding seam on the uncritical longitudinal side. These rectangular expansion joints have now been used successfully for over 30 years.
